7 August 2026 marked an important milestone for Knowledge Gains Sdn. Bhd. as we received approval as a training provider for the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and Fire Safety Officer (FSO) programmes.
The achievement followed the completion of the Training Provider and Instructor Course for Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and Fire Safety Officer (FSO). This milestone expands Knowledge Gains’ fire safety training capabilities and enables us to further support the development of competent fire safety personnel in Malaysia.
About FSM & FSO
Fire Safety Managers and Fire Safety Officers form part of the Fire Safety Organisation, or Organisasi Keselamatan Kebakaran (OKK), established for designated premises.
Under Regulation 6B of the Fire Services (Fire Certificate) Regulations 2001 [P.U. (A) 241/2001], as amended by the Fire Services (Fire Certificate) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 [P.U. (A) 290/2020], a Fire Safety Organisation consists of:
- One (1) Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
- At least three (3) Fire Safety Officers (FSO)
The regulation also provides that the appointed FSM and FSOs shall be certified by the Director General in the manner determined by the Director General

The approval represents another step in expanding Knowledge Gains’ professional and competency-based training portfolio. With FSM and FSO programmes being added to our training offerings, we look forward to supporting organisations and individuals seeking to strengthen their fire safety and emergency preparedness competencies.
