An elderly man died after becoming trapped in a house fire in Kampung Kuala
Dong, Raub, Pahang, on 27 September 2026. The fire was reported at
approximately 9.56 p.m. and involved a semi-permanent house that was
estimated to be 80% damaged. An elderly woman who was also inside the
house managed to escape safely.

The elderly man was believed to have been trapped in the living room as firefighters arrived to carry out firefighting and rescue operations. He was later found inside the house and was believed to have died from burn injuries and intense heat. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control, with the operation ending at approximately 2.13 a.m.
