The P.A.S.S. technique is a simple method to operate most common fire extinguishers safely:
- P - Pull the pin to unlock the extinguisher.
- A - Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
- S - Squeeze the handle to discharge the agent.
- S - Sweep from side to side until the fire is fully extinguished.
